Leicester City Predicted Lineup vs. Brighton for December 8

Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s brilliant start for Leicester City continues with another home Premier League fixture as they take on Brighton & Hove Albion on December 8, and look to build on from their Tuesday night victory against West Ham. Here is the Leicester City predicted lineup as the Foxes look to find another three points in their bid for survival.

Leicester City Predicted Lineup for Premier League Clash vs. Brighton

How Leicester City Have Lined-up Recently

In Tuesday night’s 3-1 win over West Ham, newly appointed Ruud Van Nistlerooy took a similar approach to Steve Cooper in terms of structure as he implemented a 4-2-3-1 formation with relatively few changes.

Mads Hermansen has been in fantastic form this season having started all Premier League games, whilst a favoured duo in front of him hasn’t been found yet. Centre-backs Jannik Vestergaard, Wout Faes, Caleb Okoli and Conor Coady have all split minutes this season and may be rotated once again. James Justin is the likely right-sided defender after playing the full 90 on Tuesday, similar to this on the left side Victor Kristiansen seems to have solidified his spot after a strong performance last time out.

The double pivot of Wilfred Ndidi and Boubakary Soumaré was front and centre against the hammers as the pair appeared for a fourth consecutive game. On the wings, Kasey McAteer and Bilal El Khannouss have had great displays recently and in the centre, Facundo Buonanotte has been the creative outlet that this squad has desperately needed.

Leading the line has been Jamie Vardy, who opened the scoring in midweek. However, Patson Daka also found the net and washighly praised by his Dutch manager after the game.

Leicester City’s Recent Form and Tactics

With a win last time out the Foxes seem to have turned a new page, as they sit four points above the drop zone in 16th place. The 3-1 win over West Ham saw Van Nistelrooy’s new system and philosophy in place, which proved to be enough to beat Julen Lopetegui’s struggling side.

The victory saw a 4-2-3-1 formation with Viktor Kristiansen progressing as high as a winger, whilst James Justin tucked in to make a 3-2-4-1 when in possession. It’s a similar way to how Steve Cooper looked to play but with more attacking fluidity on transition and also fewer mistakes at the back. The Ndidi-Soumaré pivot maybe lacked the creativity to help find a goal but was defensively solid and made for a good alternative whilst Harry Winks is injured. Kasey McAteer also seemed to be an important player in the Foxes’ defensive structure as he often dropped back and doubled up with James Justin.

However, despite the win, there are still issues as they conceded 31 shots in total, which was enough for 3.10 expected goals for the visitors. Despite the win showing signs of progression, it will take a while before this Leicester City side can dominate games.

Leicester City Injuries to Consider

Harry Winks (Groin) and Ricardo Pereira (Hamstring) are both still injured with Winks looking likely to be back before the Portuguese international. There are no recent injuries as both Odsonne Edouard and Bilal El Khannouss have been cleared but Facundo Buonanotte will be a huge miss as he is ineligible to play against his parent club.
