West Ham linked with bizarre move for 27 year old Chelsea squad player

West Ham are in big trouble – it looks like their manager Julen Lopetegui has to win on Monday night against Wolves to save his job. But even with 3 points there, the Hammers are in big trouble, and are apparently already looking ahead to January for ways they might save their season.

According to CaughtOffside, one potential option would be a move for Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo. The 27 year old signed from Fulham in the summer. A loan move until the end of the season is one idea that’s suggested, although we can’t see that working out for anyone.

Tosin has 3 league starts this season, and is actually falling further down the pecking order, with Benoit Badiashile now unquestioned as the injured Wesley Fofana’s reserve.

Anything is possible for desperate West Ham

There’s no doubt that West Ham are in a dire position, and will look for January reinforcements. But the idea that they might sign Tosin seems crazy. He only arrived at Chelsea 6 months ago, and we appear to have offered him a hefty salary – it was enough to beat Newcastle to his signature.

On the other hand, given he was signed for us on a free, and isn’t cracking our first team any time soon, there’s no reason the sporting directors would turn down a really juicy offer. That’s just free profit for FFP, and money they could spend on a new addition.

The issue is that we just can’t see West Ham stumping up enough cash to tempt them – and we also think that Tosin is liking life at Chelsea and would want to stick around even though he’s not playing much. A Conference League winners medal sounds a lot more tempting than possible relegation with the Hammers.
