Pena 9.0, Yamal 8.5 | Real Betis 2-2 Barcelona: Player ratings

FC Barcelona manage to get a frustrating draw against Real Betis away from home. Far from an easy game, but one that the Catalan giants desperately needed to win. Unfortunately, Barcelona ended up being unable to take all three points after all.

An first half goal from Robert Lewandowski gave Barça some hope, before Real Betis managed to get themselves a penalty in the second half. Then, out of nowhere, Lamine Yamal set up Ferran Torres for a great goal. Late on, however, Betis got another goal.

Here are the Barcelona player ratings from the game.

**Player Ratings:**

**Inaki Pena:** 9.0

Confident on the ball and strong whenever he faced shots in this game, Inaki Pena had a solid outing against Real Betis. Barcelona could have been trailing early on in the game had it not been for his great save to deny Abde. Later on, in the second half, another amazing save from Pena kept Barça in the lead. Could not do much about the penalty, however, despite diving in the right direction.

**Jules Kounde:** 7.5

Had a brilliant partnership with Lamine Yamal in this game, and the duo on the right flank caused Real Betis a lot of issues. Ultimately, it even led to the Frenchman grabbing an assist for himself by placing a great pass into the path of Robert Lewandowski.

**Pau Cubarsi:** 7.0

A true sentinel at the back for Barcelona, Pau Cubarsi never let his age show in this encounter. Constantly fouled and Real Betis consistently tried to put pressure on him, but the youngster did his best to get them away.

**Inigo Martinez:** 7.5

Strong and resilient at the back, he fought fire with fire when it came to Real Betis and their intensity. His ball-playing was commendable and his defensive actions were equally important for the team.

**Alejandro Balde:** 7.5

Much sharper and more active today, Alejandro Balde was constantly running up and down the left flank and helping out both offensively and defensively. Was a constant headache for the Real Betis players and his runs often led to the opposition leaving open spaces in between.

**Marc Casado:** 8.0

Always ready to do whatever it takes to win back the ball for the team, Marc Casado was exactly what Barcelona needed to keep up with the intensity of Real Betis. While not always the strongest presence in the air, he was everywhere on the ground.

**Pedri:** 8.0

As the game went on, Pedri’s influence on the match improved simultaneously. While he was mostly kept quiet during the first half, the Spaniard quickly made sure to make an important pass that opened up a lot of space for Jules Kounde to set up Robert Lewandowski for the opener.

**Lamine Yamal:** 8.5

Shining once again, the Barcelona prodigy had his markers struggling to keep up. His passes through the middle, his devious dribbling, and his keen eye to find his teammates were always a great asset for his teammates to take advantage of. Also managed to get a beautiful assist to give Barcelona the lead again late.

**Dani Olmo:** 5.5

Not one of his best performances and he would have realized that himself. Slow to react and his passes did not always meet the mark, was one of the first players to be taken off and it seemed like an understandable tactical change.

**Raphinha:** 7.0

By his own standards, this was a rather quiet game for Raphinha. The Brazilian star and Barcelona captain did his work and was always ready to put his body on the line for the team, but unfortunately he could not contribute directly to any goals this time around.

**Robert Lewandowski:** 8.0

Back in the starting eleven and already managed to grab a goal for himself late in the first half. While his hold-up play was constantly thwarted by the Real Betis players, he did well enough to be in good positions throughout the game.

**Substitutes:**

**Ferran Torres:** 7.5

Despite his rather erratic timings at time, Ferran Torres was quite eager to get on the scoresheet. Ultimately, he ended up giving Barcelona the goal they desperately needed in the second half.

**Frenkie de Jong:** 6.0

Was looking like a solid option initially to come on, but ended up giving away a penalty that ended up quite costly for Barcelona.

**Gavi:** 6.5

Came on for Pedri and was quite good at controlling the tempo of the game for the team. Solid cameo from the Spaniard.

**Pau Victor:** N/A

Not enough influence or time on the field to warrant a rating.

**Hector Fort:** N/A

Not enough influence or time on the field to warrant a rating.
