Report: What the Friedkin Group think of Sean Dyche as Everton could look at David Moyes…

Everton may have had the Merseyside derby postponed, but it won’t be long until the takeover is confirmed at Goodison Park.

Sky Sports reported that the Everton takeover was ‘very close’ earlier on this week, and it looks as if it’s now gotten closer.

There have been advancements that could see an announcement come at the start of the week before Christmas, which would be perfect timing.

The January transfer window will be vital to how this season pans out, with some clear improvements to be made and a couple of contract situations that could make things interesting.

Sean Dyche‘s future is another topic the Friedkin Group will need to sort out, and it appears as if there are a couple of solutions.

Friedkin Group could look outside of the United Kingdom for a potential Everton manager appointment

The mood at Everton was lifted due to the victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in midweek, but that doesn’t mean Dyche is in the clear just yet.

With Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth up next, things could soon turn sour if results don’t go the way of the Toffees.

According to iNews, the Friedkin Group has not made a decision on Dyche and his coaching team, but the aim of staying in the Premier League remains.

The report states that he is yet to speak to anyone connected to the new ownership group, and his style doesn’t feel like a great fit, but an immediate change feels unlikely.

David Moyes has been linked, although the Friedkins are known to be big fans of the German school of management, so an overseas appointment to re-energise the club is possible.

A potential U-turn from the Friedkin Group?

There has been a claim from Alex Crook that the Friedkin Group could even decide to keep Sean Dyche at the club until the end of the season, which would be an interesting turn of events.

“It’s a victory that keeps the wolf from the door for a bit longer, isn’t it? Because they’re five points clear now of the relegation places and you look at the teams below them, I think Everton will be okay with or without Dyche.

“And they might decide, actually, this season Dyche is the best man just to make sure they stay in the Premier League and then maybe look to make a change in the summer to move into that fantastic new facility.”

It’s unlikely that this would happen when you look at the run of fixtures coming up, but it all depends on what the teams below are doing.
