It ended Brentford 4 Newcastle 2.
A match that was thrown away due to individual moments at both ends.
Some great chances in the first half not taken, especially when Isak went around the keeper with a chance to make it 2-1 but allowed Flekken to recover and get a hand to the ball before shooting.
Whilst the defending at key moments was really poor at times, including gifting possession.
Looking at the individuals in black and white, interesting to get an independent perspective on how this played out.

Whoscored Brentford 4 Newcastle 2
(The Whoscored system can only show a maximum of four subs on their display at any one time, Sandro Tonali was rated 5.8)
As you can see, eight players who started the match received a rating of 7.0 or more.
With five Brentford players and three for Newcastle United.
Alexander Isak (7.5) getting top marks for Newcastle. A cool header when Murphy’s shot turned into a cross and some other clever threatening play first half, though that moment when Isak should have made it 2-1, was probably key.
Not sure about Murphy getting 7.3, United’s next highest. He was poor overall and got two assists not by design.
Harvey Barnes (7.0) produced a very decent finish for his goal but that only cancelled out the one he created for the opposition minutes earlier, when gifting possession in the middle of Newcastle’s half.
