The Friedkin Group will probably complete the Everton takeover in time for the Chelsea clash but not the Arsenal one, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports news editor took to X on 7 December to respond to questions relating to the Toffees’ takeover which is expected to be completed this month.

With the Liverpool clash being called off, the next match is against Arsenal on 14 December followed by Chelsea’s visit to Goodison Park on 22 December.

Myers wrote: “No probably after Arsenal.”

Everton takeover appears to be making significant progress

This development indicates that the takeover by the Friedkin Group is nearing completion.

By specifying that the process is likely to be finalised after the Arsenal match but before the Chelsea game, Myers suggests there is a high degree of certainty about the timeline, which implies significant progress in negotiations and legalities involved in the takeover.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

This level of detail, where a specific game is mentioned as a marker for the completion, reflects a shift from general speculation to a more concrete expectation.

The Chelsea match as a benchmark for when the takeover will be completed is a positive sign, suggesting that all parties involved are close to completing the deal.

This development is not only a milestone for Everton’s future but also signifies a major step in the club’s transition phase.

Hopefully, there aren’t any fresh snags and the takeover can be greenlit by the Premier League in the coming days.

In other Everton news, the club’s January transfer plans have already begun and a priority has emerged ahead of the window.
