BREAKING: Liverpool's wonderkid target on brink of record transfer

A player Liverpool have been seriously tracking for months is on his way to the Premier League. But is it to Anfield?

The transfer window is very nearly upon us and Liverpool will be linked with several moves. But could they be about to seal one quickly?

Argentine journalist Uriel Lugt claims wonderkid left-back Julio Soler is playing his final fixture for Lanus on Saturday. Soler will be moving to the Premier League - though, it's not clear where.

Liverpool have been linked with Soler for some time, though. Just a week ago, in fact, reports in Argentina claimed the Reds were in the mix for him.

That was pushing River Plate to get a deal done as they hoped to beat Premier League teams in the race. However, it appears they've not failed to do that.

Manchester United are also linked with Soler and may well be the team he's joining. All that's apparently clear is that this one is very close - the deal is advanced and the teenager is moving.

Liverpool like Soler

With the interest in Soler very real, it suggests Liverpool are looking to boost their long-term options there. That's bad news for three players, in particular.

First and foremost, Owen Beck. Beck is out on loan right now but will hope to earn a place in the Liverpool squad going forward. Bringing in a younger left-back hurts those chances, though.

But it also suggests Liverpool don't see a long-term future in either Andy Robertson or Kostas Tsimikas. The Reds wouldn't be moving for one of Argentina's biggest prospects in the position if they didn't view him as potentially their no.1 choice within a couple of years.

This is one to keep an eye on, then. Soler is a very interesting target for Liverpool and if he's moving, it really could be to Anfield.

And that shakes things up.
