Crystal Palace drew 2-2 with Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles scored inside five minutes when Will Hughes picked out wing-back Daniel Munoz in acres of space to drive in the opening goal.
Oliver Glasner’s side wasted plenty of opportunities, and they were punished when Erling Haaland jumped in to head in Matheus Nunes’ cross.
After the break, Maxence Lacroix scored his first goal for the Eagles when he directed his header into the net from a brilliant delivery from Hughes, who was absolutely outstanding.
Paul Merson was unimpressed with City’s defending and labelled it as “shocking”. However, Pep Guardiola’s side found a way to get back into the game, with Rico Lewis scoring a fantastic goal.
Lewis was later sent off for two bookings. Palace will consider themselves unlucky not to have won this.
Glasner has showered praise on Munoz after the game and hailed his goal as “amazing”.
He said, as quoted by BBC Sport: “An amazing finish from Danny. They were missing several headers, defenders, it’s an advantage. It’s not easy to find where you’re better than City. We have many.”
Munoz has now scored in back-to-back home games for Palace, as they moved to 16th in the table with 13 points on board.
Palace are finally picking up form
After a poor start to the season, Palace are finally picking up some form, and it is an encouraging sign.
They are unbeaten in their last four games and picked up crucial points against Aston Villa, Newcastle United and City.
Hughes, Munoz and Lacroix were superb, while Dean Henderson made a few good saves.
The pass from Hughes to pick Munoz was absolutely outstanding, while his corner was perfect to reach the head of Lacroix.
Palace will soon get back Adam Wharton, who has recovered fully after surgery, and the squad will get even stronger.
