Everton fans have been through the mill over recent years with the Toffees threatened with relegation for a number of seasons now.
Sean Dyche’s men have not exactly set the world alight so far this season with Everton coming into the weekend just five points ahead of the relegation zone.
But their weekend was put on pause when the Merseyside Derby was postponed due to Storm Darragh and the safety issues resulting from the weather.
It has now been a number of years since Everton found themselves competing at the top end of the table when David Moyes was their boss.
Looking back on his career, Moyes has admitted there was one really special player from his time at Goodison Park.

David Moyes praises former Everton striker Wayne Rooney
Speaking to BBC Sport, Moyes has admitted the greatest player he ever managed was during his time as the Everton boss.
Moyes shared three names as some of his top players during his managerial career, including Nemanja Vidic and Declan Rice.

“Wayne Rooney: I think when I look back over the years to have someone at such an early age be so talented,” said Moyes.
“You know, known worldwide throughout his career, breaking Manchester United goalscoring records, breaking the England record for goalscoring… I think Wayne would have to be the standout player.”
This may be even more interesting to the fans at Goodison given Everton are lining up Moyes as their next manager amid pressure being piled on Dyche.
Wayne Rooney so impressed by Moyes as a manager
Rooney dreams of managing Everton one day, however, his dream may well be becoming more and more unlikely as he struggles at Plymouth Argyle.
But Moyes is a manager which Rooney holds in high regard having played under him during his time at both Everton and Man United.
“At Everton, the team were hard to play against and he’s doing the same thing at West Ham,” Rooney told The Athletic.

“I’d imagine every team in the Premier League will not fancy playing West Ham at the minute.”
Although Rooney’s career in management may not be proving overly successful, all Everton fans will agree he was some player.
