Moises Caicedo has opened up about the immense pressure he felt following his record-breaking £115million move to Chelsea.
The midfielder, who has been a pivotal force in the Blues' impressive run this season, acknowledged the challenges of his transition from Brighton to Stamford Bridge after his £115m British record transfer.
Reflecting on his journey, Caicedo shared: "When you come to a big club, at the beginning the pressure is different here, first you have to adapt to all the team-mates and what the coach wants.
"Being the most expensive player in the Premier League, a lot of things cost me because I had the pressure of being the new N’Golo Kante.
"That affected me a lot, but when I put that behind me, I started to focus only on helping my team and proving that I am worth what they paid for my transfer.
"I finished the last few games of last season very well and I knew that this new season was going to be mine because I set my mind to it."
Caicedo's resilience has seen him start every one of Chelsea's 14 league games this campaign, donning the captain's armband twice, and being subbed off just twice too.
