Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick looks likely to be forced to sit out both of the club’s next two fixtures.
That’s according to **[Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20241207/1002367102/flick-le-caeran-dos-partidos-perdera-barca-atletico.html)**, who have on Saturday provided an insight into the situation.
Tactician Flick was for his part given his marching orders for the first time since making the move to Spain earlier today.
En route to Barcelona’s 2-2 La Liga draw with Real Betis, the German was dismissed midway through the 2nd-half, after protesting against the decision to award a penalty against his side.
As per the referee’s report, Flick was shown a red card ‘for leaving the technical area shouting and gesticulating, protesting one of my decisions’.
As per MD, as much would fall under article 127 of the Disciplinary Code of Spanish football.
The terms of as much detail that:
‘Protesting against the main referee(s), the assistant referee(s) or the fourth referee(s), provided that it does not constitute a more serious offence, will be punished with a suspension of two to three matches or for a period of up to one month.’
Though a final decision is yet to be made by the RFEF, Flick therefore appears to be facing up to a minimum of a two-game ban.
The 59-year-old, in the case of as much, would not be permitted to take his place on the sideline for either of Barcelona’s upcoming La Liga fixtures against Leganés, or Atlético Madrid.
