Liverpool attempted to sign Julio Soler in the summer but a deal collapsed. Their interest in the player remains, however.
Anfield Watch understands Liverpool pushed to sign Lanus left-back Julio Soler in the summer. Soler, 19, is one of the brightest prospects in Argentinian football right now.

Liverpool wanted to bring him in and were very close to sealing a deal. We understand a disagreement over agent fees saw a deal collapse ahead of the Olympics, in which Soler played for Argentina.
Liverpool then revisited the deal after the tournament but held off from completing the transfer. It's unclear exactly why they hesitated.
But interest in Soler remains and Liverpool are supposedly one of several clubs currently looking at the player.
Soler linked with transfer
Reports in Argentina certainly suggest Soler will soon move. Just last week there was talk of River Plate pushing for a transfer out of fears Liverpool and Manchester United would soon complete a deal.
Now things have gone even further. A claim on Saturday says Soler will play his final fixture for Lanus this weekend as he's completing a transfer to the Premier League.
That deal is apparently close, though not yet completed.
Now, we can't say whether Liverpool are that club but there's certainly potential for them to be. The Reds went to get him in the summer but perhaps it's the winter when they finally land him.
Doing so would shake up the left-back situation at Liverpool, adding an exciting prospect to the squad as an option behind Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.
