Anthony Edwards becomes third-fastest player in NBA history to 7,500 points in win over Warriors

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards made more history, becoming the third-fastest player to score 7,500 career points in Friday's 107-90 win over the Golden State Warriors.

Edwards reached the milestone in typical fashion, scoring 30 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds. The points were the key statistic in the win as only LeBron James and Kevin Durant have reached 7,500 points in fewer games and continued to paint Edwards as a rising star in the NBA.

The performance began in the second quarter when Edwards had a turnaround jumper off the glass to extend the lead to double digits and knocked down a 3-pointer with just under three minutes left in the first half to give Minnesota a 54-35 lead.

It was another impressive performance by Edwards, who led the Timberwolves to their fourth straight victory after calling the team soft after a loss to the Sacramento Kings on Nov. 27.

With the Timberwolves regaining their defensive identity, they've improved to 12-10 on the season ahead of Sunday night's rematch with the Warriors in San Francisco.
