Brennan Johnson and Chris Wood wowed by one Nottingham Forest player vs Man United

Both Chris Wood and former Nottingham Forest player Brennan Johnson took to Instagram after the Manchester United win to praise one player in particular.

Nottingham Forest enjoyed plenty of success in the second half against Manchester United, with a lot of it coming down the right-hand side.

Jota Silva put in one of his best performances in the red shirt, whilst Ola Aina backed him up terrifically.

However, Chris Wood stole the headlines with his record-breaking goal, as he’s now the all-time leading goalscorer for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Rather than basking in his own glory, Wood took to Instagram alongside Brennan Johnson to praise one player for their performance in the Manchester United win.

Brennan Johnson came up through the academy at Nottingham Forest before being sold for £47.5m, as he joined Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, Wood is showing everyone in the Premier League how to score goals, having taken his tally to ten in just 15 games this season.

Gibbs-White had a brilliant second-half, scoring and assisting one goal.

What Nottingham Forest have done to find the next Brennan Johnson

Nottingham Forest appreciated the efforts of Brennan Johnson that much that they’ve even created a special program based around finding the next version of him and Ryan Yates.

Craig Mulholland described how the program works earlier on this year.

“We have something called the ‘TPPP’ — the talented player performance programme.

“There are some players who will be identified as high-potential talents. It is our job to really push them. If we have the next Brennan Johnson coming through, we need to accelerate his learning. We delve deeper.

“Key aspects such as psychology, nutrition, performance, coaching, health and wellbeing, analysis and pathway are presented in a tailored performance dashboard.

“These reports will show if there are any areas where we need to push that kid, to prevent any barriers to him becoming a first-team player.

“We do wellbeing questionnaires every morning and the players wear Oura Rings, which monitor their heart rate. We know their stress and anxiety levels, 24 hours a day.

“They download that every night and our psychologist and wellbeing team can monitor it and see, for example, if a player is not sleeping well before games.”
