Joel Embiid listed as questionable for matchup vs. Bulls

Maybe we’ll get to see more than six minutes of the Big 3 together this time.

Joel Embiid has been officially upgraded to questionable for Sunday afternoon’s game against the Chicago Bulls. Nick Nurse has said at just about every press conference that he hopes Embiid feels better the next day to be ready for the next game, but it appears that may finally be the case.

Nurse has also said that Embiid has continued to do on-court work over this past week. It’s definitely a good sign for his availability, though he’ll likely still have to go through his pregame warmup before being officially ruled active.

Adem Bona remains the only Sixer on a standard contract ruled out for the contest in Chicago — he’ll miss his second straight game due to a left knee contusion. Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Justin Edwards are also unavailable, but they are on a two-way assignment in the G League.

This is an interesting one for Embiid to return in. Due to the [Sixers](https://www.libertyballers.com) failing to advance in the NBA Cup, they’ll have four days off after Sunday’s game. Their next game after the Bulls was just added to the schedule, a home game on Friday against the Indiana Pacers.

So Embiid and the team will have plenty of time to see how the left knee reacts if he is able to take the court. It would be just his fifth game of the season. He last took the court in a Nov. 20 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
