The day after Toumani Camara exited early with a foot injury, Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups talked to the press about his status. Camara missed practice Saturday, and is already ruled out for Sunday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Billups said the team is “still waiting on everything” for Camara, and he is not doing on-court activities.
Billups also notes that Scoot Henderson is getting closer to return from his quad contusion, but it’s not yet clear if he will play against the Lakers. The injury discussion begins at around the 3:00 mark of the video.
Camara was injured in the first quarter of Portland’s dreadful 141-99 loss to the 5-17 Utah Jazz. Henderson has played in just one of the Blazers’ previous eight games, a seven-point loss in Indiana. During that stretch, he was out with a back strain due to a minor car accident as well as the quad contusion.
Camara is averaging 9.1 points an 4.9 rebounds per game. Henderson has scored 11.7 points per game on 41.6% shooting, with 5.4 assists.
