Chelsea are reportedly already ready to offload a player they signed in the summer.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to sell a new signing just months after his arrival. The Blues have enjoyed an excellent season so far, currently second in the Premier League and closing in on Liverpool.

Enzo Maresca’s men are currently seven points behind the Reds, and should they beat Tottenham on Sunday, they will move within four, albeit temporarily, with Liverpool having their Merseyside derby with Everton postponed on Saturday due to storm Darragh.

Maresca has done a fine job of streamlining his squad, taking ruthless decisions over the summer to get the squad total down to a manageable number. But there are still players who are not getting regular game team, making them liable to a winter or summer departure, whether than be on loan or permanently.

The 26-year-old has only made five league appearances, while he is yet to start a game for the Blues in the league. Maresca is a big fan of Dewsbury-Hall’s, dating back to his Leicester days, but there are a suggestions that there has been a reality check that Dewsbury-Hall may not have the right level of ability to ever be a Chelsea starter.

It’s reported Chelsea will listen to offers for the creative midfielder, and offers of both types, although a loan deal may be more likely in January given Chelsea will want to make their £30million back. The player is also said to be open to a move in a bid to get more game time having had just 12 minutes of Premier League football in the last nine games.

What Maresca has said

Maresca said of Dewsbury-Hall’s lack of involvement in late November: “Kiernan was, at Leicester, the most important player. He moved to Chelsea to be one other player. You have to accept that.

“Probably at the beginning, you struggle to accept that. Now it’s getting better. Me as a manager, I am very happy with Kiernan, no doubt. But for sure for him, he has to continue to work, wait for the chance and take it, in the way he is doing in the Conference League. He is doing OK.”
