_Full match player ratings below:_
**Thibaut Courtois—7.5:** Four saves, three of which were from shots inside the box, the big Belgian will be happy with his clean sheet.
**Lucas Vazquez—6.5:** Struggled to play out of pressure during the opening 10 minutes but gradually found his feet and put in a solid shift.
**Tchouameni—7:** Best performances for Real Madrid have come as a center back and tonight was no different. His ability to play the “exit ball” out of the back makes the difference.
**Rudiger—7:** Mr**.**Reliable once again put in a dominant shift at the back, never resting on his laurels.
**Ferland Mendy—6:** Asprilla was one of Girona’s most active and dangerous players but Mendy defended well for most of the evening before coming off with an injury.
**Luka Modric—8.5:** The Croatian put in his best performance of the season. Took full control of the match in the second half. Finished the game with 1 assist, 2 big chances created, 4 key passes, 8/10 long balls, and over 120 touches. It was Modric who always took the risk to play the vertical ball and attempt to break lines.
**Fede Valverde—6:** Kept the ball moving in the middle of midfield, never over complicating the game.
**Arda Guler—7.5:** Fantastic goal which will do the teenager’s confidence a world of good. Arguably more important was the work he put in off the ball which Ancelotti noted after the game.
**Brahim—6:** Improved in the second half like the rest of the team. Had one attempt in the first half which was destined for the top corner until Gazzaniga got a hand to it.
**Jude Bellingham—9:** Real Madrid’s best player. Came up big with a fifth consecutive goal in La Liga and the go-ahead goal in the game. Then produced an inch perfect assist to Arda, feeding the Turk on his run beyond the Girona backline.
**Kylian Mbappe—7:** Scored a classic Mbappe goal galloping down the right and finishing at the goalkeeper’s near post. Confidence appeared to improve after the goal, with several deft flicks and touches.
**Substitutions:**
**Fran Garcia—6:** Substitute for Ferland Mendy with the game already won.
**Dani Ceballos—6:** Replaced the injured Bellingham. Sprayed the ball around and finished the game with 33 passes.
**Endrick—6:** Collided with the Girona goalkeeper resulting in a head injury. Ran around with energy and intent during his 10 minutes on the field.
**Raul Asencio—6:** Composed on the ball, drawing fouls via his ability to carry the ball out of the back.
