100% aerials, 94% passing, 6 recoveries: 60-touch star was United's best player vs Forest,…

Manchester United suffered a disappointing 3-2 Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils went into the game after a 2-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium where they conceded two goals from corners.

We saw another repeat against Forest. Nikola Milenkovic put the visitors in front with a towering header from a corner after just two minutes.

United were able to pull level through Rasmus Hojlund, but a goalkeeping blunder from Andre Onana allowed Forest to score early in the second half.

Forest went 3-1 ahead soon after. United reduced the deficit with a Bruno Fernandes strike, but they could not grab a late equaliser.

There were several underperformers in the United ranks, but we were particularly impressed with how Manuel Ugarte fared in midfield.

The 23-year-old was one of the most sought-after midfielders during his time at Sporting CP where he was managed by Ruben Amorim.

A reunion has done wonders for his confidence. The Uruguayan’s brilliant threaded pass was largely responsible for United’s first goal.

The midfielder had a passing accuracy of 94 percent with 60 touches. He won 50 percent of his ground duels and 100 percent of his aerial duels.

Ugarte also made six recoveries with two tackles won. He was substituted in the 76th minute which was reasonable as he looked quite tired.

In our view, the former Paris Saint-Germain man has started to find his best form for the Red Devils.

He was by far United’s best player against Arsenal in midweek and he was brilliant yesterday too.

Amad Diallo was likewise good with another assist, but we believe Ugarte has become undroppable from the starting XI under Amorim’s tutelage.
