Cade Cunningham Makes Pistons Franchise History in Win Over Knicks

The Detroit Pistons moved to 10-15 on the season Saturday as they punched above their weight in the NBA's Eastern Conference, knocking off the New York Knicks in the world famous Madison Square Garden.

The Pistons' won dropped the Knicks to 14-9 on the season and also gave Pistons guard/forward Cade Cunningham a chance to show off the skills that made him the number one overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft on the big stage.

Cunningham set a Detroit Pistons franchise record on the night relative to the location as Detroit won a shootout at the Garden.

The former Oklahoma State Cowboys prodigy became the first Pistons player to record a triple-double at Madison Square Garden as he compiled a stat line of 29 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds on the evening.

The 6-foot-6, 220 pound Cunningham has averages of over 23 points, over seven rebounds and more than nine assists on the season while shooting over 45 percent from the field in Detroit's bid for a comeback season.

The Pistons are just 3-7 in their last ten games, but Saturday's game could serve as a springboard to better things with Detroit still chasing better playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference, currently entrenched in the 11th spot in the East, a half game behind the rival Chicago Bulls.
