Mac Allister will miss Tuesday’s Champions League game against Girona and then serve a domestic suspension against Fulham after the postponement of the game between Liverpool and Everton.
The 25-year-old has played a pivotal role for the Reds this season, generally playing alongside Ryan Gravenberch in midfield. The double-pivot of Mac Allister and Gravenberch provided a lot of control to the Reds, which Slot demands from the team.
The Argentinian scored the opening goal against Real in the Reds’ 2-0 victory at Anfield against their bitter European foes. While Liverpool enjoys a rare break from the congestion, the other midfielders need to step up in Mac Allister’s absence.
