Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham’s project is “nowhere near” Chelsea’s in any way

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has insisted that Tottenham’s current project is nowhere near Chelsea’s project in any way shape or form.

Spurs are currently down in 11th place in the league after 14 games played and are now in real danger of dropping way our of the top four race for this season. Of course, there is a long way to go yet, but a defeat to Chelsea today would see them really fall behind as other clubs take advantage.

Chelsea on the other hand are in a real dreamland so far this season, sitting in second spot in the league after 14 games played and they now have a chance to gain on top place Liverpool today as well.

Enzo Maresca has come in and steadied the ship at Chelsea and has really got the project where the club has always wanted it to be heading. It’s taken a long time, but it seems the manager was the key ingredient that they had been getting wrong so far. As I say though, there is a long season ahead yet.

Spurs project way off Chelsea’sAnge Postecoglou says Spurs cannot be compared the Chelsea

Postecoglou believes it is impossible to compare Tottenham’s current project with London rivals Chelsea.

He said: “I don’t think so. The sheer volume that they’ve invested, both from a financial perspective but also a numbers perspective (means) that we are nowhere near being in that boat.

“The players we’ve signed are not only young in age but young in experience. Archie Gray made his senior debut last year in the Championship. Lucas Bergvall has come from Swedish first division. Wilson’s out (injured) but the teenagers weren’t experienced either.

“It’s different in both approaches and really almost impossible to compare what we’re trying to do.”

He’s now wrong mind, Chelsea have had a heavy financial backing and have signed tons of players.
