According to a report in The Mirror, Liverpool and Mohamed Salah have agreed to a contract extension. The Egyptian star's contract expires in the summer of 2025, but he is set to sign a two-year extension with the English giants.
Salah has been linked with a move away from Anfield, with Paris Saint-Germain named as a possible destination. But it seems he will stay put at Liverpool.
Salah joined the club in 2017 from AS Roma for a reported €42 million fee and has been a smash hit since his arrival. He has played 370 games for the club, scoring 226 goals and providing 101 assists to become the Reds' third-highest goalscorer after Ian Rush and Roger Hunt.
Salah has won every major football prize with the Merseyside giants at least once, including two League Cups, one UEFA Champions League, one FA Cup, one FIFA Club World Cup, and the club's first Premier League title in three decades.
Mohamed Salah has been phenomenal for the Reds this season, registering 15 goals and 12 assists in 21 games across competitions to help the Reds to the top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League tables.
Liverpool legend picks his favorite player at the club
In a recent interview, Liverpool legend John Barnes snubbed Mohamed Salah and named Luis Diaz the club's most dangerous player. The Colombian winger has been solid for the Merseyside giants since arriving from FC Porto in 2022.
Diaz cost the English giants a reported €52 million and has gone on to play 118 games for the club, scoring 33 goals and providing 15 assists. His performances have impressed Barnes, who told Four Four Two:
“He’s done better than I expected – it’s hard coming from Portugal, but he’s been on fire. The fans love him because he’s quick, skilful and energetic, and he always gives 100 per cent in and out of possession. He’s a real Liverpool type of player. Mohamed Salah gets a lot of goals, but sometimes dips in and out of games. Diaz has been our most dangerous guy for the full 90 minutes, every time I’ve seen him play.”
Barnes Spent a decade with Liverpool between 1987 and 1997 after joining from Watford for a reported €1.3 million fee. He played 406 games for the club and bagged 107 goals and 91 assists to help the club to two League titles, two FA Cups, and one League Cup.
