Aston Villa attacking midfielder Jacob Ramsey is likely to be months away from returning to 100 per cent fitness, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims he has been stuck in a vicious cycle of setbacks and has mirrored Dan Bardell’s comments about it being a real problem given how frequently he’s spending spells on the sidelines.

Ramsey last played for Villa on 9 November when his side suffered a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “Seeing constant injuries is never a good sign so I would agree with Bardell to an extent there as there certainly is a problem.

“A vicious injury cycle is difficult to get out of.

“Villa will have to really look at the root cause of the injuries and see if there are any underlying factors that can be addressed.
