Academy goalkeeper Marco Underwood [has signed a professional contract with Fulham](https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2024/december/04/professional-contract-for-underwood/), the club have announced this afternoon.
The talented custodian has enjoyed a fine start to life at Motspur Park since joining the club following an impressive trial period in January. Underwood, who joined from Woking, impressive in his early outings from the under-18s, whom he has captained this season, as well as appearing in the under-21 side.
Underwood told the club’s official website:
“I’m delighted to put pen to paper. It’s taken a long time to get to this point and I’m really happy that the club has given me this opportunity. I’d like to thank all the staff members and coaches here at Fulham, but particularly my mum and dad for pushing me and helping me become the best possible player I can be.”
Fulham’s academy director Sean Cullen added:
“Marco has had an interesting journey to this point, travelling an unconventional path to a professional contract. Marco enjoyed success at non-league level before making a positive transition into academy football. It is clear that those experiences gave him a real platform with his goalkeeping, that he has continued to work hard to develop since joining us last season. Marco is another ‘high character’ player who has worked diligently in all areas of the programme.”
