“”I had been dreaming” – 17-year-old Real Madrid star on making first team debut against Girona

Real Madrid recorded a very impressive 3-0 victory over Girona on Saturday, and for Daniel Yanez, it is a day that he will never forget. He was drafted into the matchday squad after Rodrygo Goes was forced to pull out with muscular discomfort, and he was rewarded with a cameo in the final minutes at Montilivi.

As per [Diario AS](https://as.com/futbol/primera/girona-real-madrid-en-directo-laliga-ea-sports-hoy-en-vivo-n-2/), Yanez shared his thoughts on making his debut when speaking to the media after full time.

“I had been dreaming of this moment for a long time, since I was born I was already a Real Madrid fan. As a child I said it was my dream and it has come true. Ancelotti has told me to enjoy myself, to play as I know how, to do what I do as my team and to let go.

“They called me to come to Girona today and I want more than ever, to be honest. It’s been a very good year for me, I work my best every day and I hope more days like this come. I am a humble person who always dreamed of playing with the greats and learning from them. And that is what I am going to continue doing.”

Yanez is highly-rated within [Real Madrid](https://www.football-espana.net/category/la-liga/real-madrid), and he will hope that this appearance is the first of many that he makes for the club of his life.
