Chelsea signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this summer from Leicester City. They paid £30 million for the English midfielder who had a very good last season. But now, after just 6 months the club is ready to part ways with the 26 year old.
Dewsbury-Hall had a superb last season with Leicester City. He helped them to win the Championship and gain promotion back to Premier League under the guidance of Enzo Maresca. The 26 year old played 49 matches last season. He was able to top it up with 12 goals and 15 assists.
Chelsea signed Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca this summer. They followed the arrival of the Italian with another Leicester player and reunited him with Dewsbury-Hall. But the deal seems to have not worked out for any of the included party.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to leave Chelsea in January?
As per the Football Insider, the Blues are prepared to sell Dewsbury-Hall in january. The 26 year old is unhappy at the moment due to lack of game time this season. The Blues will also need to sell some of their stars due to PSR before making any new signings.
Dewsbury-Hall is in the peak of his career and hence will like to play regularly at the highest level. Despite playing 13 matches this season, he is yet to start in any Premier League game so far.
Chelsea will like to coup all of the money they spent and will demand £30 million. Spending this amount may prove hard for the interested clubs in January. Hence, the Blues may agree to let the player leave on loan before parting ways permanently in summer.
As of now Rangers and Aston Villa have shown interest in the 26 year old. But Rangers will find it hard to agree the deal on financial level. Villa are capable of doing business but they may wait until summer to make Dewsbury-Hall their permanent midfielder.
Live Updates
Enzo Maresca was asked wheter they are favourites against Tottenham. The Italian replied that they are not the favourites. He added that just because they are second in league does not make their favourites. Chelsea fans are loving this approach of moving ahead step by step from their boss.
