Arne Slot gives his honest opinion on Goodison Park and Everton fans

The last Merseyside derby at Goodison Park was postponed yesterday due to Storm Darragh.

The decision to cancel Everton vs Liverpool was made after a Safety Advisory Group meeting, which was attended by officials of both clubs.

The fixtures is expected to be rescheduled next year, so both sides will have a game in hand for the foreseeable.

Anyhow, there’s still been a number of interviews released from both sets of players and managers around the clash.

Arne Slot and Sean Dyche spoke all things Merseyside derby and the former has issued his honest opinion of Goodison Park and the supporters.

Arne Slot says Goodison Park is a ‘beautiful stadium’

Speaking to TNT Sports, Slot praised the Everton fans for their passion and admitted that Goodison Park is a ‘beautiful stadium’.

Asked if he’s ever been to Everton’s ground, Slot replied: “No, I’ve drove past it many times already in a few months. But I’ve never been there, but yeah I’ve heard many good things about it.

“It’s a beautiful stadium where the fans are really passionate for their team, so yeah I know a bit but I haven’t been there yet.”

Slot further admitted he’s already been told by many about how special the game is.

Sean Dyche names the most memorable Merseyside Derby goal

Sean Dyche was asked what goal he first thinks of when he hears the words ‘Merseyside derby’.

“I think it’s got to be Dom’s last season for us to win it,” Dyche said.

“I know there’s been better goals I’m sure down the years of course but you know for me as manager, for us to win it, I think it was 14 years at home to win was very pleasing and that kind of sealed it.”

Calvert-Lewin’s 58th-minute goal followed Jarrad Branthwaite’s opener in what was a historic day for the Toffees.

It all but ended Liverpool’s title hopes, too, making it that little bit sweeter for the players and supporters.
