Tommaso Pobega was deemed surplus to requirements by AC Milan in the summer, but he is slowly finding himself a place in the Bologna midfield.
Alongside Yacine Adli, Pobega was shown the door when Paulo Fonseca arrived. With Milan struggling with midfield depth, perhaps it was the wrong decision, especially with both growing on loan (it is worth noting that both deals have an option to buy included).
Minutes have started to become more frequent for the Italian, and he has scored twice in his past two games for Vincenzo Italiano’s side – scoring this weekend against Juventus as the Rossoblu were denied a vital win by a late Bianconeri equaliser.
It is a result, and goal, which would have helped the Rossoneri if they had not fallen to Atalanta on Friday.
Nevertheless, we can see the progress being made by Pobega in the goal from multiple perspectives. His confidence to get into goalscoring positions has clearly grown, as well as his intelligence to position himself in them.
