FC Barcelona once again dropped points in La Liga last night as they allowed Real Betis to get a draw despite having gone in front twice in the game.
Jules Kounde was one of the architects of the first goal scored by the Blaugranes, as he sent in an excellent cross which was finished off by Robert Lewandowski.
As SPORT has reported, the French defender also spoke to the media after the game, and naturally he was quite sad with how the game had gone last night:
“I’m disappointed; we let a good opportunity slip away by conceding that goal in the final minutes. I think we allowed them to grow stronger toward the end through losses of possession and negative actions. At home, they are a good team that knows how to play, gains confidence, and ultimately surpasses you.”
The penalty won by Vitor Roque was one of the turning points of this game, and Kounde revealed that Flick was quite disappointed with that play:
“I haven’t seen the penalty play; I assume that if it was called, it’s a penalty. Flick was disappointed, as we all are, but this continues—we have to learn from our mistakes.”
The Frenchman also gave his opinion on what the team needs to do in situations like that of last night to avoid dropping points: “We need to take fewer risks in the final minutes. Perhaps we need to be more pragmatic.”
There is no doubt that being pragmatic in such situations can help Barcelona salvage points, especially when the opponent is pushing as hard to get a result as Real Betis were last night.
Hopefully, Hansi Flick and the team will have learned their lesson from this game and will use this experience to avoid dropping more points in these situations in the future.
