Spurs celebrate holidays with Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Barrel Tree

If you are attending a Spurs home game this month, you will have an opportunity to see a unique sight. Per a Spurs press release:

The San Antonio Spurs today announced the lighting of a special Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Barrel Tree at Frost Bank Center at the team’s Thursday, Dec. 5 game against the Chicago Bulls. The only whiskey barrel tree of its kind in Texas, this festive display will remain in the outdoor ULTRA Club for fans to enjoy for the entirety of the holiday season through the Spurs Saturday, Jan. 4 game.

The Barrel Tree tradition started in 2011 at the Jack Daniel Distillery. 100% of the proceeds go to the Armed Services YMCA to support the Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home program, which helps bring military home for the holidays.

Chris Fletcher, Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller, stated,

“Our whiskey barrels have always had a special role to play, and during the holiday season, they take on an even greater purpose—bringing military families together. We hope our friends in San Antonio will purchase a barrel to help service members create cherished memories with their loved ones. It’s an opportunity to honor their sacrifices and make this season even more meaningful for the families.”

Fans in attendance can snap photos of the seven tier constructed designed from 113 Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey barrels.

The Spurs and Jack Daniel’s will host special activations at home games this holiday season such as product sampling, branded giveaways and honoring military members and their families at select games in December. In addition to the Barrel Tree, fans can also enjoy live music in the ULTRA Club at all Friday and Saturday home games during pregame, halftime and postgame as part of this season’s new ULTRA Warm-Up and Overtime Concert Series. Thursday, Dec. 5 will feature a special edition of the ULTRA Warm-Up and Overtime Concert Series to celebrate the lighting of the Barrel Tree. The ULTRA Club is accessible on game days to anyone with a ticket.

Tonight the Spurs host the New Orleans Pelicans on a Salute Night honoring the United States marine Corps.
