After Manchester City’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, Pep Guardiola would have had his head in his hands.
Guardiola argued with referee Rob Jones after the contest due to the controversial nature of Rico Lewis’ sending off as well as the fact that he blew the full-time whistle after he denied City a dangerous counter-attack.
The rapid Jeremy Doku was ready to set Manchester City off on a last-gasp break but the referee decided to put an end to a pulsating draw at Selhurst Park.
Pep Guardiola will be hoping that his side bounce back in the Champions League against Juventus.
Erling Haaland’s post-match statement suggests he has already decided to move on from his side’s latest result.

Guardiola suggests ‘every single team’ is better than Man City at defending set-pieces in the Premier League
Bernardo Silva reacted to Manchester City’s draw against Crystal Palace, expressing his disappointment, however.
City allowed Palace to take the lead after Kyle Walker let Maxence Lacroix have a free run at heading the ball past Stefan Ortega from a corner, which is a moment that typifies how underwhelming the visitors were.
Reflecting on the clash, Pep Guardiola claimed that no team in the Premier League is as poor as Manchester City while defending set-pieces.
Guardiola said via HaytersTV: “Of course, in the set-pieces right now, they are stronger than us, every single team, so we try to concede few, that is what we are doing but in general, yeah the game was there and coming back in this stadium is not easy and really pleased from what I saw.”
Perhaps the Catalan was referring to the evident lack of physicality in this Manchester City side, which makes them quite vulnerable at defending set-pieces.
Even in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal, Gabriel Magalhaes scored from a corner.
Guardiola’s verdict on Man City’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace
Pep Guardiola praised Manchester City’s players despite the disappointing result on Saturday.
Guardiola said: “Really good. So proud of the team. I liked everything of the team, how we fought. We have a lot of problems with our squad. We fought incredible. We came back twice.”
“It’s a difficult place to come. We struggled in the beginning. We gave everything and we take a point. Long balls, second balls, they’re stronger than us. We started the second half a bit sloppy. After 2-1, we reacted well.”
“We lost another player defensively for the next game for a second yellow card.”
Pep Guardiola must be given credit for managing to publicly keep his composure despite how appalling his Manchester City side have been in recent weeks.
