Chelsea are ready to sanction the departure of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall just six months after signing him from Leicester City.
According to a report from Football Insider, Chelsea are ready to part ways with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the upcoming transfer window. While the Blues made a significant investment to add him to their squad in the summer, they are ready to entertain offers for his services in January as he does not seem to be an important part of Enzo Maresca’s plans.
Dewsbury-Hall came up the ranks at Leicester City and got promoted to their first team back in 2021. The Englishman became a key figure in the Foxes’ first team and played a massive part in helping them secure promotion back to the Premier League.
He was one of the first names on their team sheet under Enzo Maresca last season. Following the Italian manager’s move to Chelsea, the Blues went in and forked out a massive £30 million to sign the 26-year-old. While he was the go-to man for Maresca last season, a lot has changed since he moved to Stamford Bridge.
Dewsbury-Hall could leave Chelsea in January
The former Leicester City boss does not seem to count on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the Premier League. He has only been involved in five league games racking up just 55 minutes in total. So far, the English midfielder has racked up less than 700 minutes in his 13 outings. He is getting frustrated by the lack of game time and is already considering his future at the club.
While the Englishman’s contract at Chelsea runs until the summer of 2029, the Blues are open to a potential departure in the winter. They are ready to listen to offers for the midfielder’s services. His availability has put clubs on alert with only a few weeks to go until the window reopens. Aston Villa are believed to be one of the clubs that are interested in his signature.
The Blues are open to sanctioning his departure, but they want to recover the £30 million they paid Leicester to secure his services. Their priority is a permanent transfer but they are also open to a loan deal if the player ends up pushing hard for an exit and no club comes in with a permanent offer.
