La Liga giants Real Madrid have this weekend seen their lengthy injury list added to once more.
This comes amid confirmation that Ferland Mendy is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Defender Mendy, for his part, featured from the off last night, as Real Madrid secured a return to winning ways in a trip to Girona.
Late in proceedings at the Estadi Montilivi, however, the Frenchman went to ground in evident discomfort, before being hooked from the action.
Mendy, in turn, was put through a round of medical tests in Spain’s capital on Sunday morning.
And, as per a statement across Real’s website and social media platforms, as much confirmed that the club’s left-back ‘has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to his right quadriceps’.
According to Blancos insider Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, as much is expected to keep Mendy sidelined for a spell of around three weeks, ruling the 29-year-old out until the new year.
