Arsenal’s Declan Rice and West Ham ace Mohammed Kudus have joined the outpouring of love for Michail Antonio after his serious car crash.
It’s been a torrid season for West Ham – made worse by Arsenal’s 5-2 defeat last weekend.
But Saturday was the darkest day for the Hammers for some time after it was confirmed Michail Antonio had been airlifted to hospital following a serious car crash.
Declan Rice helped Arsenal to another big win over his former club which set the wheels in motion for another dismal week at West Ham.
A 3-1 Hammers defeat at Leicester pushed manager Julen Lopetegui to the brink.
And one report after another has emerged of serious unrest in the Hammers dressing room with claims of fights between players and the manager.
Many feel there has been a lack of proper leadership in the West Ham dressing room since Rice left in that £105m move to London rivals Arsenal.
Hammers rocked by awful Antonio incident
All of that has been put sharply into perspective by the awful news regarding Antonio, though.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
The Hammers confirmed last night that distressing images on social media were indeed true – Antonio had been in a serious car crash.
Pictures on social media showed the Ferrari belonging to the Hammers’ all-time leading Premier League goalscorer severely damaged.
A Hammers co-owner has lead the Antonio well-wishers while the club has issued a big update and police have released an appeal.
While incidents like this put football sharply into perspective, the beauty of the game is that it comes together in these moments.
The great and the good of football have been showing their love for West Ham forward Antonio.
Even West Ham’s arch rivals Millwall and Spurs sent messages of support.

Rice and Kudus send heartfelt messages to Antonio
Arsenal added to the tributes, saying: “Everyone at Arsenal sends their love, support and well wishes to Michail, his family and West Ham United.”
Now Arsenal’s Rice and Mohammed Kudus have sent heartfelt messages to stricken West Ham star Antonio.
Hammers ace Kudus took to social media to share a picture of him with Antonio.
“You’ve got this Mickey,” Kudus said in the post.
Re-posting West Ham’s statement about Antonio on his Instagram Stories, Gunners ace Rice referred to his old teammate as his ‘brother’.
“Thinking of you and your family brother,” Rice said, tagging in the striker.
“Prayers to all of you,” he added alongside praying and heart emojis.

Rice and Antonio were two of the biggest characters in West Ham’s dressing room during some memorable years together.
It’s real class from Rice who, once again, has showed he really does care deeply about his old club and teammates.
The Hammers and their fans had feared the worst when images were emerging yesterday.
So it was a major relief when the club update came through that Antonio was conscious, stable and communicating.
Football is very much secondary when it comes to the Antonio situation right now.
The priority is his wellbeing as a father of four children.
