West Ham United are seemingly in a really strong position to appoint a truly brilliant manager to replace Julen Lopetegui.
Julen Lopetegui is a man under real pressure at West Ham right now, and he allegedly has just one game to save his job – Monday’s clash with Wolves at the London Stadium.
I personally think he should have been sacked a while ago, with many top-class managers out there available.
It is what it is though. All we can hope is that the Hammers owners make the decision to part ways with Lopetegui soon.
If we are to make genuine progress as a club, Lopetegui is not the man we need at the helm.
West Ham need someone who can organise us defensively – a man whose intensity will rub off on the players.
And that man is seemingly out there within touching distance of the Hammers.
West Ham favourites to appoint absolutely exceptional manager
If the board do pull trigger and hand Lopetegui his P-45, it seems like the ideal candidate is out there waiting for us.

Well, that’s what AS Roma Live are claiming anyway.
The Italian publication suggest that West Ham are leading Roma in the race to secure the signature of Massimiliano “Max” Allegri.
The 57-year-old is an elite coach, and has won a whopping 15 trophies during his time in the game.
He is incredibly driven, organises his teams superbly well defensively and insists on nothing less than 100% commitment from his players.
Max Allegri is a proven winner, and he would definitely bring a top, top mentality to West Ham.
One thing’s for sure – he’s an another level to Lopetegui, certainly from a tactical perspective.
It seems like the trophy-laden Italian is there for the taking.
I’m just hoping that our owners don’t miss out on the chance to appoint him through sitting on their hands.
