CaughtOffside are among the outlets today reporting that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is the subkect of transfer interest from Aston Villa.
The midfielder came to the club with Enzo Maresca this summer from Leicester but has struggled to make an impact so far. In fact, his biggest achievement so far has probably been winning the shooting contest in training a week ago.
Various sources are saying that as the months pass, Dewsbury-Hall is looking more and more like a spare part who isn’t going to get even the limited minutes he will have anticipated at his new club.

However there’s also the fair point made that Chelsea will want to avoid strengthening a top 4 rival – although at the moment Villa are struggling are we’re flying.

Sums simply don’t add up for squad player sales
We treat this story a little bit like the one about Tosin Adarabioyo and a move to West Ham which bubbled up yesterday. Both of these guys arrived only in the summer, and will have known they aren’t in line to be first team starters. So we can’t see either of them pushing for a move after just a few months. They will want to stick around and try and prove themselves for at least a year, and may be happy to be a squad option for longer than that.
But as we said with Tosin, the fact that they’re not in the first team means that the club would certainly consider selling them if they can make good money on what they paid. They’re both very replaceable. But in KDH’s case, after we paid £30m in the summer for a player who has barely featured since, we can’t see anyone offering what we would want to make a deal happen.
