Former Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham was once again the star of the show as Real Madrid kept up the pressure on LaLiga leaders Barcelona with a convincing 3-0 victory over Girona. The England midfielder found the back of the net for the fifth consecutive league match, giving Real a lead at half-time and also provided an assist for Arda Guler to double their advantage before Kylian Mbappe rounded off the scoring.
Carlo Ancelotti's men are now just two points behind Barca, with a game in hand, after Hansi Flick's side were held to a 2-2 draw by Real Betis earlier on Saturday. Giovani Lo Celso's penalty levelled the scores after Robert Lewandowski had put Barca ahead, and despite a late goal from Ferran Torres, Assane Diao managed to snatch a last-minute equaliser.
Elsewhere, Rayo Vallecano secured their fifth league win of the season with a 1-0 victory over second-bottom Valencia, while Las Palmas triumphed 2-1 at home against Real Valladolid. Over in Germany, Bayern Munich extended their unbeaten start to the Bundesliga season to 13 matches and increased their lead at the top of the table to six points with a 4-2 win over Heidenheim at home.

Bayer Leverkusen climbed to third in the table thanks to first-half goals from Florian Wirtz and Jonathan Tah, which secured a 2-1 win over St Pauli at home.
Eintracht Frankfurt held their second position after a 2-2 draw with Augsburg at home, while RB Leipzig moved up to third following a 2-0 victory over Holstein Kiel. Borussia Dortmund are now in fifth place after a 1-1 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach, and Werder Bremen secured a 1-0 win against Bochum.
In Serie A, Juventus missed an opportunity to close the gap on the leaders, managing only a 2-2 draw against Bologna despite being two goals down. Teun Koopmeiners and Samuel Mbangula’s last-minute equaliser saved Juve from defeat.
Roma broke their streak of four consecutive league losses with a 4-1 victory over Lecce at home. Over in France, Monaco reduced Paris St Germain’s lead in Ligue 1 to five points with a 2-0 win against Toulouse, thanks to second-half goals from Stephane Singo and Breel Embolo.
Lyon extended their unbeaten league run to nine matches with a 3-0 win at Angers, while Nice beat Le Havre 2-1.
