Tottenham pondering over a swoop for Juventus star in 2025

Tottenham eyeing move for Nicolo Fagioli in 2025

Tottenham Hotspur have begun the groundwork for their transfer activities heading into 2025 and are shortlisting the players that they could target moves for either in January or once the season has come to an end, when a more serious and strong revamping project might be on the cards depending on what the team achieves upon the conclusion of 2024/25.

Having said that, one of the latest names on Spurs’ radar is Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli, who is even wanted by Crystal Palace, according to a report by Calcio Mercato. The Italian international is one of the key players for the Bianconeri with Thiago Motta trusting him as a differential off the bench but with their worrying financial situation, Juventus will be prepared to part ways with practically any first team player subject to the right offer. It remains to be seen what exactly that sum is in Fagioli’s case.

The 23-year-old is one of the Serie A’s most budding midfielders and having also become a regular call-up into the Italian national side since earlier this year, it is no surprise seeing clubs keen on Fagioli’s services. It is debatable though if Tottenham are in any need of a midfielder or should be prioritising a defensive or offensive revamp before turning their attention to the engine room.

Nicolo Fagiolo was also the subject of an off-field betting scandal a year or so ago which resulted in him being banned from action for seven months in October 2023. While the player has returned to good measure since May this year, Tottenham might not want to onboard a player who would be the subject of scrutiny for non-footballing reasons as well.

In other news, they are planning on holding talks for Matheus Cunha with Wolverhampton Wanderers in January and it would be far from a surprise if much of their time in the winter is spent behind trying to acquire a striker. As such, a deal for Fagioli might not be on the cards for January though the situation could develop with greater pace next summer.
