Harry Redknapp now suggests£180k-a-week Chelsea player is starting to become as important as Cole Palmer

There is no doubt that Cole Palmer is the most influential player at Chelsea and has been since joining the club.

Cole Palmer is already one goal away from reaching double figures for goals in the Premier League this season, while the attacking midfielder has also registered six assists.

In what can only be described as bad news for the rest of the English top flight, the 22-year-old is trying to improve, too. Palmer recently shared that he’s working on his right foot.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has been discussing the England international, as well as another Chelsea star, who he believes is starting to make a similar impact to his teammate on the pitch.

Harry Redknapp on Enzo Fernandez

While Redknapp feels that Palmer is the main man at Chelsea right now, which is a pretty accurate assessment, the 77-year-old thinks Enzo Fernandez is also starting to bring an “X-factor” to Enzo Maresca‘s team.

In his column for The Sun, he wrote: “Cole Palmer is the main man. He would be the X-factor for any team. But we’re seeing it with Enzo Fernandez as well now. He’s a World Cup winner and starting to show the form they bought him for.

“It’s the same with Moises Caicedo. Now he’s really showing what he is capable of and they are looking strong in midfield.”

The midfielder’s manager has also heaped praise on him recently. On Friday, Maresca claimed that Fernandez was improving and starting to understand the game better.

Chelsea’s most important player after Cole Palmer

Fernandez has certainly hit top form, scoring in back-to-back games against Leicester City and Aston Villa before Chelsea’s 5-1 win against Southampton.

However, the player whom Chelsea cannot live without after Palmer is undoubtedly Caicedo, who has been on a different level this season.

Caicedo has been incredibly important for the Blues in the middle of the park. He is currently averaging 3.2 tackles per game, the most in his squad, and 1.5 interceptions.

As good as Fernandez has been, the Ecuadorian is quite clearly the MVP at Chelsea after Palmer.

The fact that the club have all three, though, shows how good Chelsea’s squad is. A win against Tottenham Hotspur later, and people really will start to believe that the Blues are in the title race, if they do not already.
