Long before the start of the NBA season, Brandon Ingram looked like one of the strongest trade candidates.
Nevertheless, multiple reports show there hasn’t been much interest in his services around the league.
That’s why both sides might be stuck with one another.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the New Orleans Pelicans would still gladly take him for the long run.
They reportedly plan to offer him around $40 million per year (via Legion Hoops).

Ingram was reportedly looking to get something close to top dollar, which is one reason there have been no takers.
As good a player as he is, he has yet to prove that he’s worthy of a max-caliber deal.
He’s no longer a prospect, so he’s closer to being a finished product than a promising player with a higher ceiling.
He’s also struggled with injuries for most of his career, missing several games this season with different ailments.
Right now, Ingram is stuck in an odd limbo, sort of like Zach LaVine.
He’s a good, injury-prone player who would be an elite third option for a championship contender.
Still, teams won’t break the bank for a third option; they can get one for a lot cheaper in the NBA Draft or via trade.
The Los Angeles Lakers were reportedly the only team interested in making a run at him, which checks out.
But barring a major turn of events, it seems like the former Duke star isn’t going anywhere.
