Theo Hernandez’s situation at AC Milan is changing constantly, but not in the way that would be hoped for by fans. Instead, it is getting worse.
In the summer, Theo came out and said that he was not sure where his future was, days after Zlatan Ibrahimovic had confirmed that the big three stars would remain at the club during the mercato. Since then, things have gone downhill.
Contract talks are yet to take off properly, unlike those occurring with Mike Maignan and Tijjani Reijnders, and his performances are not matching the requests he is making for a renewal. For this reason, a departure cannot be ruled out.
Because of this, January will be a key month. Reports have already stated that the club will prioritise sorting his renewal (among others) during the mercato, but Calciomercato.com have also claimed that another option could be viewed.
In a report, it is suggested that a January exit is ‘not a taboo’, given the current season that the 27-year-old is having. The ‘worst Theo’ is seemingly at the ‘natural conclusion’ of his journey with the Rossoneri, and there is no longer the ‘necessary stimulus’ to continue.
For this reason, continuing together makes no sense, as the report suggests, so a January sale would be ‘anything but a gamble’.
