Arsenal defender William Saliba is committed to the Premier League club amid links with European champions Real Madrid. Los Blancos are in dire need of defensive reinforcement as they struggle with an injury crisis this season.
Real Madrid have lost the center-back duo of Eder Militao and David Alaba to respective injuries and the duo are not expected to return to full fitness until next year.
France international Saliba is one of the defenders linked with the Spanish giants on the back of his quality showings for Arsenal. The defender spoke with Mirror about his future with the Gunners, pointing out that he feels at home in London.
"Yeah of course, I feel at home. I signed for the club five years ago but it’s only my third season and I’m enjoying everything – the players, the staff and the fans. I feel at home so of course, why not?"
The 23-year-old has appeared in all 13 Premier League games for the Gunners this season, scoring once and helping his side keep five clean sheets. In five appearances in the UEFA Champions League, he has helped his side keep three clean sheets.
Saliba appeared in all 38 Premier League games for Mikel Arteta's side last season, highlighting his importance to the Gunners. He signed a new contract with the club in 2023, which would keep him at the Emirates until 2027.
