Who Will Sit Out for Spurs vs. Pelicans?

The San Antonio Spurs have lost three straight games and have fallen below .500 for the first time since Nov. 18. A big part of their skid has been the absence of Victor Wembanyama, who tweaked his back against the Phoenix Suns. The Spurs lost that game and have lost the subsequent next two, as well.

While the Spurs have missed their best player, the New Orleans Pelicans have missed all of their players, as virtually every starter and depth piece has missed time with one ailment or another. In stark similarity to the Memphis Grizzlies last season, the Pelicans might have to give up on this year, if they haven't already.

Keep it posted to Inside the Spurs for all the latest news, ranging from odds (via FanDuel), injury reports for both teams, and TV information.

Dejounte Murray is back in the Pelicans' lineup and has averaged 15.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 2.8 steals since missing 17 games, so rookie Stephon Castle will have quite a matchup against his could-have-been mentor. Castle is shooting better from deep than Murray, and there is growing hope in San Antonio that he should be able to surpass the veteran in a few short years.

Even without Wembanyama, the Spurs should be able to make easy work of the Pelicans and get back on winning track.
