Recently, Enzo Fernandez has been benched in favour of a more physical midfield of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. As per 90Min, Fernandez’s agent has vigorously denied that the player wants to leave Chelsea. After all, despite problems settling into the Premier League after his record-shattering £108 million move.
Fernandez remains committed to Chelsea’s long-term project. Fernandez’s agent said that he is working on achieving success with the club. He has not gone around discussing with other teams.

Chelsea, according to reports, might sell Fernandez as early as the summer of 2025 if a suitable offer arrives. The buyer may perhaps be Real Madrid, desperate to strengthen its team’s midfield, given how much Carlo Ancelotti appears to admire his ball progression and attacking instinct. Liverpool have also been associated with him but perhaps not anymore with their new rebuilt midfield recently.

Chelsea would surely consider this decision financially. First of all, Fernandez is a huge signing on paper. But he’s a player whom the club would seek to recover a bit or much of the money as Maresca could potentially deem him redundant for tactical reasons. Even though there are instances of loyalty from him- his agents have reported that he remains to prove himself at Chelsea- if he can first achieve that regularly coming into the team.
If Fernandez does move, then the buyer will get a technically gifted midfielder. The Argentine can influence games with his creativity and passing range. Still, adapting him to a system that maxes out his abilities will be crucial for any interested club.
