Inside Why Kat Trade Is Perfect For Knicks

When the New York Knicks opted to trade Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo for All-NBA center Karl-Anthony Towns, plenty of analysts weren't supportive of the move.

They certainly are now.

Towns is playing the best basketball of his career with the Knicks and has them winners of 11 of their last 15 games. He's currently on a career high pace in both rebounds, three-point, and shooting efficiency.

The reason why? There's no place like his new home.

"It's magical to be here in The Mecca and be here at MSG and have the crowd react like that to a play you make," Towns said via Knicks Videos on Twitter. "The fans love the highlight plays, but it's all about wins here in New York."

While New York's defensive efficiency has taken a bit of a tumble to start the season, they've even made improvements on that end in large part to the recomittment to that side of the ball with Towns.

Suddenly, a roster full of offensive superstars is beginning to play like the team many expected they could.

And it has Knicks fans very excited.

Towns is, of course, a major part of that. Plenty of people were worried with how the veteran center would react from starting in a smaller market like Minnesota to the biggest media market in the world.

To this point, though, Towns has not only succeeded, but flourished in his new home. It has the entire roster believing they can compete for a title.
