Jamie Carragher branded Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma "brain dead" after his mistimed lunging tackle conceded a penalty against Chelsea in Sunday's entertaining Premier League clash. Spurs threw away a 2-0 lead in north London when Bissouma's reckless sliding challenge awarded Cole Palmer a chance to equalise from 12 yards.
Jadon Sancho's majestic solo strike launched Chelsea's comeback after two Marc Cucurella slips helped Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski hand the hosts an early two-goal advantage.
The Blues dominated proceedings after half-time and earned the opportunity to draw level when Bissouma brought down Nicolas Jackson.
He had been played through on goal before the Spurs man got nowhere near the ball with his reckless attempt at a tackle.
And Palmer calmly sent Fraser Forster the wrong way, making it 2-2 before Chelsea's momentum earned them a crucial win in the Premier League title race.
Carragher, on Sky Sports commentary alongside Peter Drury, didn't hold back with his criticism of Bissouma for his costly actions.
He said: "I've said all day that some of the things Tottenham players do is absolutely ridiculous.
"It's a certain penalty, and it was his [Bissouma's] mistake initially on the far side, losing the ball to Neto. And he maybe comes flying across thinking I've got to try and rectify this in some way.
"He was really poor on the first challenge on Neto. That is absolutely brain dead. I mean, who'd be a manager?"
