Inter Milan Star Calls Facing Brother In Derby D’Italia Vs Juventus A ‘Dream Come True’

Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram says that facing his brother Khephren in the Derby d’Italia was a “dream come true” for him.

The Frenchman spoke to Magazine UEFA, via FCInterNews. He talked about joking with his younger brother after the 4-4 Serie A draw between the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri in October.

Striker Marcus Thuram has been at Inter since the summer of 2023. He joined on a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach.

When Thuram arrived, he came to a league where his name was already a famous one.

The France international’s father Lilian had spent ten years playing in Serie A. He had spent five seasons at Parma, and five at Juventus.

Those family connections with Juventus did not stop Thuram from choosing to join the Bianconeri’s Derby d’Italia rivals Inter.

However, in the summer transfer window this year, Lilian’s other son followed more closely in his father’s footsteps.

Midfielder Khephren made the switch from OGC Nice to Juventus.

Inter Striker Marcus Thuram: “Facing Khephren At Juventus A Dream Come True”

Inter striker Marcus said of the situation with his brother that “Playing in the same league, at two of the biggest teams in the league, is a dream come true.”

He continued that “On the pitch, it’s as if it were just us.”

“Me against him, without other players. Just the two of us. It’s like we were back playing in our backyard.”

Then the Inter striker went on that “When we faced Juvenu, Khephren was on the bench.”

“Every time a goal was scored, I looked over him and laughed,” he admitted.

“Khephren is my big little bro. It’s strange, it’s stressful for me to see him on the pitch or watch his matches.”

“I’m nervous before the start of each match,” Marcus said. “And I hope that everything goes well for him.”

“I think that happens to every older brother, who sees their younger brother grow up.”

“It’s strange because I’ll always see him as little Khephren… Even if he’s bigger than me now.”
