Chelsea cancelled out our flying start for a 4-3 win in Sunday's Premier League clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Buoyed by the return of central defensive pair Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, there was a sense of anticipation in the stadium ahead of kick-off, and the players responded with early goals from Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski to lead 2-0 inside 12 minutes.
Chelsea pulled a goal back through Jadon Sancho on 17 minutes and we saw chances come and go for Heung-Min Son, Solanke and Pape Matar Sarr, who hit the woodwork. At the other end, Fraser Forster's double save from Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto maintained our advantage at the break. We also lost Romero to injury.
You felt the next goal would be vital, and so it proved. Yves Bissouma wiped out Moises Caicedo and Palmer slotted home from the penalty spot for 3-2 on 61 minutes. Enzo Fernandez fired the visitors into the lead on 73 minutes and Palmer was there again from 12 yards after Sarr bundled into the England forward on 82 minutes. We kept going and Son slotted home from James Maddison's cross for 4-3 in the sixth of seven added minutes, but there only time to mount one more attack as Timo Werner's cross evaded Son.
Meanwhile, more bad news on the injury front as both Brennan Johnson and van de Ven hobbled off.
