Referee named for Champions League match between Atalanta and Real Madrid

UEFA have appointed Polish referee Szymon Marciniak as the man in charge of Tuesday’s match between Atalanta and Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Szymon Marciniak will referee the game between Real Madrid and Atalanta, on matchday six of the Champions League (Tuesday, 9 pm CET). The Pole will be refereeing a match involving Madrid in this competition for the eighth time.

-Real Madrid-Borussia Dortmund (2-2). Group stage (2016-17).

-Real Madrid-Roma (2-0). Last 16 second leg (2015-16).

Uefa Super Cup:

-Real Madrid-Atlético (2-4). Final (2018-19).

This is a crucial game for Real Madrid, one which could very well decide the future of Ancelotti’s men in this competition. Marciniak has the experience and the pedigree to perform at a high level in such an important match.
